It seems like it never would have made the news were it not for some crazy bastard driving his car into a crowd of people.
White supremacist rallies are nothing new. We all are aware of the vile underground society of racist, bigots that somehow believe that their ethnicity makes them superior to those not of their own.
But I will defend to the end someone’s right to say what they want. And the United States constitution does that also.
While the freedom to say what we want is protected, we are not however, protected from the consequences of what we say. Good and bad. And we are not obligated to tailor our words so that we don’t hurt someone’s feelings or offend their sensibilities.
We can’t outlaw speech and that’s just the way it goes. Because if if we label something “offensive” then who is the arbiter of all things acceptable? Is it the government? I don’t think so.
But it doesn’t hurt to, as a means of creating peace within our self, to exude only positive and uplifting thoughts and words.
Peace and tranquility are contagious if it’s strong enough.
