I have to admit, I think this is one of the best books on selling that I have ever read. I have come upon the bits and pieces of the philosophy behind it in different ways over the years but this book just really kind of put a lot of things together for me into one clear-cut system. The Straight-Line Selling system.
What did it do? For me, it removed a lot of the fear of selling. You know that feeling that you are intruding on someone’s time and space by trying to sell them something? Yeah, that one. It eliminated the fear that I have to try to be their buddy before making a sale. When you are making a presentation you both know what you are there for. It’s no big deal to just get down to business on the first call or any subsequent meeting. Just be professional and know the product and by all means, love the product that you are selling. Your enthusiasm will come through.
I was even surprised to see NLP being discussed and it made me think ‘why am I just now reading this book?’ A little like, where have you been all my life, sort of thing.
I can’t recommend this one enough and don’t worry you won’t end up like the guy in the movie, although it looks like he had some fun. ๐ I love the white Lamborghini segments of the movie.
Check it out. It’s a great addition to any library with books on selling and personal development even.
And you know what they say, if you can sell, you can make as much money as you want.
